WOOLRICH to Sponsor Arctic Husky Trail
On 26th March 2011, heritage brand Woolrich will sponsor a Lapland Husky Trail in association with Global Adventure Challenges, in aid of the Meningitis Trust.
Hair stylist Mark Jobling will be driving a team of huskies 250 km across the frozen wastelands of Lapland. Camping out in temperatures as low as -30°C, his challenge will be to survive the raw elements whilst caring for the dogs in the extreme environment of the Arctic.
Woolrich have equipped Mark with one of their iconic Arctic Parkas for the challenge. Originally developed to survive the harshest climate conditions, the Arctic Parka was worn by the workers who participated in the construction of the great Alaskan pipeline in the 1970s.
Mark is taking part in this challenge to raise funds for the Meningitis Trust. Tragically, his family has been directly affected by meningitis. In January 2008 Mark’s nephew Stanley Jobling was struck by the disease, which took his life aged just three years old.
Mark hopes to build on the Stan Jobling Tribute Fund, which has already raised over £45,000 and works to raise awareness of the early signs of meningitis, as well as providing emotional and financial support to those affected by the disease. He hopes to raise at least £3000 for the charity – for more information or to donate, visit
